I mentioned a couple weeks ago that my little elf Eleanor and I had a holiday surprise up our sleeves! We decided to spread some Christmas cheer to our loved ones the best way we knew how – sweet treats!
With some help from Betty Crocker, Eleanor and I set to work making our very first batch of cutout sugar cookies together! The mix kickstarted the whole process, which was good with a two year old’s attention span… and my patience level ;)
She was SO proud to do the mixing all by herself!
Baby Evie even got in on the fun!
Eleanor chose our shapes – a Christmas tree and a holiday bell! (The latter because she thought I meant Belle from Beauty and the Beast #onetrackmind)
I think our first pan turned out pretty great – complete with some extra thumb prints courtesy of Eleanor!
While we waited for our cookies to bake and cool, I grabbed a fun coloring activity from the Betty Crocker website. Eleanor designed cookie mockups for some decorating inspiration. They were very elaborate ;)
Next up was decorating! Eleanor had one simple rule: You can NEVER have too much frosting or sprinkles! And I wholeheartedly agree!
Eleanor immediately gobbled up her cookie creations, so we packaged mine into boxes and tied them up with baker’s twine and adorable little tags!
Now it was time to spread the cheer! My little Christmas Elf delivered her goodies straight to her grandparents’ doorsteps!
It’s safe to say this won’t be the last time Eleanor and I tackle holiday baking together. I made some delicious sweet treats with an equally sweet little girl! We had such a fun time bonding in the kitchen, and she felt so great delivering her “tookies” to her grandmas!
